Thank you, and feedback on this website

I just sent this blast:

Dear Louisville 10/10/10 groupsite members,

From my perspective, and based on feedback I’ve received from others, Louisville’s 10/10/10 was a very good event.  We had 17 work parties, @ 150 workers, @75 at the community celebration, a
great meal, lots of good connections made, lots of community generated,
good press coverage, and hopefully awareness raised.   “It took a village” to make the event come together; that it came together at all (especially that fantastic free meal) is something of a miracle.   If I started thanking people by name, I wouldn’t know where to stop.  So I will thank just a few organizations:  Louisville Earth Action Group (LEAG) for coordinating the whole event; Cultivating Connections for event publicity and the program at the celebration; Earthsave Louisville for the meal; and United Crescent Hills Ministries for a wonderful facility.

Finally, thank you to all you who worked and who joined this website.  This website was created solely for the 10/10/10 event, and there there are 182 members.  With this “blast” I am seeking your feedback:  Should we keep the website going or should we shut it down?

In gratitude,

Drew

Tell us what might be the new direction for the site? Would it still be named 10-10-10? Tell more! I am on three Groupsite sites and I like them a lot.

Thanks again for all your hard work.  And for paying half of the trees!!!:)

Hi Drew, Congratulations on your organizing event...It was such a surge of energy to take part in something so much bigger than our city that it would be neat to find a niche in keeping it a viable connector to world 350 events and legislation, etc.  Maybe that can be found in other locations, but I like seeing you and your grandson on this one.

Drew,

I made my way to the site through McKibben's site ( okay, I admit...I'm a McKibben groupie)

While my husband and I weren't able to contribute to any of your planned events, we made our own by walking through downtown Jeffersonville, picking up the trash and explaining a bit to those who asked our purpose.  As Ms. Bartlett noted I'm too am not aware of other locations, etc. but want to stay connected.

CONGRATULATION!! i was with the promise form work. i enjoyed my self. if this doesn't stay open? what sight would i look into

I wonder whether we could continue this in some form? There are plenty of places around the city that require attention. I personally know of one house in Portland which is in dire need of some repairs with which I've offered to help.

It would be great if we could get volunteers together to do some of this work. Obviously, it would require making determinations on things such as priority, whether the work could be accomplished by volunteers, as well as other issues. I'd be glad to offer my time and talents to such an undertaking.

That would be great! Maybe we could do some fundraisers here and there and then use those funds to help with a pre-identified earth-friendly issue.

i read that and i quote.
